Caution

Posted by | February 12, 2012

Many places in Lochaber are washed out and can be dangerous. Please use caution especially on back roads. Sylvan Hall is badly washed out, and we don’t recommend going on the Sylvan Hall Driveway. It is recommended to drive around West Lochaber using a Truck if possible, or with extreme caution.

Be safe!

Red-bellied woodpecker

Posted by | December 18, 2011

Recently Lochaber had a rare visitor.

A red-bellied woodpecker was spotted visiting bird feeders on both sides of the lake.

The red-bellied woodpecker is common in the eastern United States, but Nova Scotia is far out of its range.
