Are you looking at getting a head start on your St. Patrick’s celebrations? If so, then join us for an Irish themed St. Paddy’s Day Pub Night at the Lochaber Centre (1585 Highway #7) on Saturday, March 7th, starting at 8:00 PM. If you enjoy, to paraphrase When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, the lilt of Irish music (or laughter, for that matter), then that’s the place to be. You will be entertained by the Townhouse Session Band, which performs on Sunday evenings at the Townhouse Brewpub and Eatery in Antigonish, and by the Lochaber Music Society, a group of talented local musicians. There will be a cash bar as well as a 50/50 draw. Admission is limited to those 19 years of age and older and costs $5.00.
The night is organized by the Friends of Lochaber Lake (FOLL) in cooperation with the Lochaber Community Development Association. For those of you who are not familiar with the FOLL, it is an organization dedicated to community improvements in the Lochaber Lake area. One project that the FOLL has undertaken is to install top quality welcome signs as one enters the community from the north and from the south. It is planned to have the signs designed by Lochaber artists and assembled by local volunteers. FOLL’s share of the proceeds from the pub night will be put toward the sign project.
Here’s hoping to see you and your friends at what promises to be an evening of good times in good company. However, if you can’t make it, but would like to make a contribution to the “Welcome to Lochaber” sign project, you may send a donation to: Friends of Lochaber Lake, 1297 West Side Lochaber Rd., RR#5 Antigonish, NS, B2G 2L3. Every contribution is gratefully accepted!
Please help us make everyone “Welcome to Lochaber”!!
